In this week’s blog we are highlighting the SF20/C. This robust microLiDAR™ is the workhorse of the LightWare range and a firm industry favourite! But don’t take our word for it – read on to find out why…
The SF20/C is a small form factor microLiDAR™ sensor, weighing a mere 10 grams and measures 30 mm x 20 mm x 32 mm. It has high accuracy ranging capabilities of up to 100 meters and works well in all light conditions, including in direct sunlight. It features a configurable update rate of up to 500 readings per second. Should a waterproof solution be required, this same unit is available from LightWare with an IP rated housing – as the LW20/C microLiDAR™.This microLiDAR™ is suitable for integration with any type of unmanned ground vehicle (UGV), unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) or robot UGVs where fast, accurate distance measurement is required. The SF20/C will certainly benefit any configuration where size and weight are critical to the system design. The use cases for this robust microLIDAR™ sensor continues to grow!

Diverse applications you can build with the SF20/C microLiDAR™.
Diverse applications for the SF20/C microLiDAR™
The SF20/C microLiDAR™ is easy-to-use and highly configurable with multiple hardware interfaces that connect to a variety of different controller types – including Ardupilot, PX4, Arduino and Raspberry Pi. Applications for the SF20/C include landing assistance, height above ground level, altitude measurement, and obstacle detection.

The SF20/C can be mounted in a downward-facing orientation for altimetry, terrain following, or precision landing applications or a forward facing orientation for obstacle detection and detect and avoid operations. This full featured microLiDAR™ is excellent value at $279!
